Hands & Hearts for Horses' Wild West FundFest!

We will be hosting a Wild West Fund Fest on Saturday, Nov. 8th at our facility from 5PM to 9PM!

The night will consist of a finger lickin’ good barbecue dinner provided by Willie Jewels and locally sourced oysters, rocking tunes provided by the Loudass Country Band, line dancing, and a silent auction featuring unique and coveted items from local favorites.

All the proceeds from this event will directly support equine assisted services at Hands & Hearts for Horses. One of the primary goals this year is to support our growing programs, in our therapeutic riding and school group program but also the expansion of our Equine Assisted Learning Programs serving veterans and at-risk youth. One of the most important values held by our founders is for no participant to be turned away for the inability to pay.  All of our programs are underwritten by our generous supporters, and the support of our Russ Jinright Scholarship Program further ensures access to all.

Come out for a rootin’ tootin’ evening in support of our participants and program!

Autumn Clarke Shares her Tales from the Mongol Derby!

Autumn Clarke returns from her exciting time competing in the Mongol Derby and is coming to Hands and Hearts for Horses to share about her experiences!

The Mongol Derby is the longest and toughest horse race in the world. A decade after launching the race that title is still being backed up by riders year after year.

In 1224 man of the millennium Ghengis / Chinggis Khaan set up the world’s first long-distance postal transmission system. Using a massive network of horse stations – ‘morin urtuus’ in Mongolian – his hardy messengers could gallop from Kharkhorin to the Caspian sea in a number of days.

For ten days each August, the Mongol Derby recreates this legendary system, building a network of urtuus at 35km intervals along the entire thousand kilometre course.

We are so fortunate to have someone in our area who has gotten to compete in this race and are so excited for her to share about her experiences!

This is a FREE event!
