internships

The Hands and Hearts for Horses Internship Program is currently limited to candidates who need to complete an internship for school credit through their high school or are enrolled in a degree program at a college or university and looking to fulfill coursework requirements. Working closely with well qualified staff and seasoned volunteers at HHH, our interns learn the ins and outs of running a nonprofit therapeutic riding center. Our internship program provides students with hands on opportunities to work with individuals with a wide array of special needs, explore different teaching and learning strategies, and learn about lesson planning and progression of skill sets. Interns also gain knowledge of equine care, from behavior management to feeding and grooming regimens. HHH is a Premiere Accredited Center with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship; each participant will study, learn and follow PATH guidelines and procedures. We work hard to ensure that each participant in our internship program leaves with a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic riding and the ethical standards and practices adhered to by those who work in and with nonprofit organizations.
