Braving the Cold

Our New Year has been off to a chilly start, but that hasn’t stopped Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn Spruiell

It’s a New Year! 2025 is officially here! Our first volunteer spotlight of the year is Kaitlyn Spruiell!

Kaitlyn, also sometimes called Kate, was once a participant with us and returned in November to start volunteering with us! Since returning Kaitlyn has been an important part of the program, coming to help multiple days a week and often staying entire days. She loves leading horses but jumps in wherever needed! She leads, sidewalks, and helps out wherever needed around the barn! We are so happy to have her with us as part of our Hands and Hearts for Horses family!

Check out our spotlight interview with Kaitlyn below!

1. What motivated you to volunteer at Hands and Hearts for Horses?
I love to help out people and animals in need!

2. Do you have a Hands and Hearts for Horses moment you can share? (Funny, heartwarming, meaningful, memorable, favorite, etc.)
Watching horses play and run around in the pasture and seeing people bond together and with animals.

3. Who is your favorite horse at Hands and Hearts for Horses and why?
They are all my favorites and I love them all. They all have different personalities. But I will have to give it to Poco. I love her intimidating look, but in reality she is a sweetheart and a giving horse.

4. What's one piece of advice you would give a new volunteer?
Remember, each horse is unique!

5. How long have you been volunteering with Hands and Hearts for Horses?
2 months
