Springtime Has Brought Us New Friends as we Say Goodbye to Others!

Springtime has been a whirlwind at the barn! We have had new friends coming, old friends retiring, and some old friends returning!

Blog Reminders

Each week in my blog there will be one hidden clue to my identity, so make sure you tune in and read my blog every week for another clue! REMEMBER, if you think you know which horse I am, shoot us a message or email Stephanie at stephanie@handsandheartsforhorses.com ! Don’t spoil the mystery for our other followers by posting your guess publicly! Can you piece together the clues and figure out which horse I am? Because I’ll never tell, well not until enough of you have guessed my secret! Once enough correct guesses have come in, I’ll post a summary of the clues that should have led you to guess my identity and we will do a big reveal!

The first person to guess my identity correctly will win a Hands and Hearts for Horses sticker and a piece of pretty Hands and Hearts for Horses themed jewelry created by our very own boss lady (or as the humans call her executive director) Susie’s own mom! So, tune in for those clues and get those guesses in! One guess per person, per week please!

Great ways to figure out which horse I am are coming to volunteer, being one of our riders, or investigating on our social media or website!

Welcome Fini!

Fini is a 17-year-old Off the Track Thoroughbred whose registered name is ‘Tout Fini’. He absolutely loves butt scratches!

New Friends!

Our herd has welcomed two new horses to the barn! We are fortunate to have been able to get Fini and June to help fill in some gaps in horse needs for our participants!

We are SO incredibly grateful to Andy and Margot Wulf for DONATING Fini to us! He is an incredible horse and that type of generosity means an INCREDIBLE amount to our program! We purchased June, A GIRL UNLIKE ME, and both horses have been integrated into our program and are doing wonderfully!

June or “June Bug” says Hello!

June is a 14-year-old gaited horse but on the smaller side which is perfect for some of our riders who could benefit from the movement but need more assistance from side-walkers!

We also are welcoming Moses and Kolt back to the barn for the summer! We love having them as part of our herd and program!

Wishing Poco A Happy Retirement!

Anyone who has been part of our program since March 2017 knows Poco! She is a warmblood who has been a huge part of our program for 8 years now! Particularly wonderful for independent riders or those moving towards independence she has been working hard since she got here! Everyone has come to the agreement that she fully deserves a wonderful retirement and place to rest. She will be going to live with her old herd mate from the barn Tokette in North Carolina! They used to be the best of friends so we are excited that they will get to live out their days together. She will be leaving this Friday for North Carolina so now is the time to say your goodbyes!

Happy Retirement Poco!

Poco has been an amazing part of our program for 8 years and is headed off to live her best life in retirement with her best friend Tokette!

Hands and Heart’s 25th Birthday Party

2025 marks Hands and Hearts for Horses’ 25th year of being open! We are planning to celebrate by hosting a birthday party at the barn on Saturday May 17th from 2:30PM to 6:00PM! Save the date and stay tuned for announcements of the fun we have planned!

That’s all from me this week readers! Stay tuned for some big announcements coming soon about our 25th year and what the humans have planned!

XOXO
