Jessica is our volunteer spotlight of the month for May!
Jessica joined us in March and since that time has become a core volunteer for Thursdays and Fridays! She is always willing to jump in and help with anything we need and can always be found keeping busy and helping get horses ready for lessons and leading or side-walking for our riders! We are so happy she has joined our Hands and Hearts family!
What motivated you to volunteer at Hands and Hearts for Horses?
My undying love for horses. I love brushing them, bathing them, everything about horses, their intelligence, the soft noses, those huge beautiful eyes, the soft coats, the different personalities.
What I wasn't counting on was the way the kids, their parents, and their teaches touch my soul. Remember the Grinch? My heart has grown three times! In all things HHH I found my nitch in retirement.
Do you have a Hands and Hearts for Horses moment you can share? (Funny, heartwarming, meaningful, memorable, favorite, etc)
So many great moments but the one that really stands out was when a teacher said "I might cry, I've waited 2 years to see that".
What's one piece of advice you would give a new volunteer?

Who is your favorite horse at Hands and Hearts for Horses and why?
Hmmmm, asking me that is like asking me which one of my sons is my favorite :) but if I have to pick it's Cookie, she's soooooo adorable.
